Craig M. Linn is an attorney who specializes in workers’ compensation law, representing injured workers for over 35 years. Mr. Linn has developed the largest workers’ compensation law practice in northeastern Illinois and enjoys the highest reputation in his field. He has for decades received the AV Preeminent rating (5.0 out of 5.0) from Martindale-Hubbell peer review, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. He has also been recognized by his peers in workers’ compensation law as an Illinois Super Lawyer and selected as a top lawyer by the Leading Lawyers Network.
Mr. Linn has served as Chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Section Council, Chair of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Workers’ Compensation Committee, and Chair of the Lake County Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Committee, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association. Tom Campe is an attorney who specializes in personal injury litigation. He has specialized in the field for over 25 years and has built one of the most successful personal injury practices in Lake County, Illinois. He focuses his practice on automobile accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, and medical negligence matters. His trial work has included dozens of jury trials on behalf of injured parties with multiple million-dollar verdicts.
Mr. Campe has been rated AV Pre-Eminent by Martindale-Hubbell peer review, the highest possible rating for both legal ability and ethical standards. Prior to joining Linn, Campe & Rizzo, he worked as a prosecutor in the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he tried cases involving various criminal offenses.
Mr. Campe served as the representative from Northern Illinois on the Illinois State Bar Association Board of Governors for several years. He has also been a long-standing member of the Lake County Bar Association Judicial Selection and Retention Committee and has been active with the Lake County Civil Practice Committee. He has lectured for the Lake County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Campe graduated from the University of Illinois Law School, Champaign, Illinois with honors in 1989. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 1985. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Lake County Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice.
John R. Rizzo specializes in workers' compensation injury law. He has over 21 years of experience representing municipal employees, police and fire first responders, and union and non-union workers in all types of workplace injuries. His aggressive litigation techniques have resulted in significant trial decisions and favorable settlements for his clients.
Mr. Rizzo earned his B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University in 1990 and his Juris Doctorate from Creighton University in 1994.
Mr. Rizzo currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association. He is a chapter author for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association workers' compensation manual. In addition, he is a frequent lecturer for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association and the Lake County Bar Association. Mr. Rizzo served multiple terms as Chairman of the Workers' Compensation Section Committee of the Lake County Bar Association.
At present, Mr. Rizzo enjoys serving as the President of the Carmel Catholic High School Council for the Arts, which supports the performing arts programs of theater, dance, choral, and music. Mr. Rizzo has previously served as an elected school board member for a K-8 school district in Lake County, Illinois.
Larry A. Appelbaum is an attorney who specializes in plaintiff’s catastrophic personal injury, construction litigation, professional negligence, automobile accidents, premises liability, and wrongful death litigation. He has specialized in these fields for over 18 years. Mr. Appelbaum was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award – Insurance Law in 1987.
His publications include the Application of Section 414 of the Restatement (Second) of Torts in Construction Negligence Cases, Tort Trends, Vol. 36, No. 2, November 2000; and Serving the Uncooperative Defendant, Tort Trends, Vol. 37, No. 2, May 2002.
Mr. Appelbaum graduated from the University of Illinois (B.A., 1984) and Chicago Kent College of Law (J.D., 1987). Upon graduation, he was hired as a supervising attorney for the law offices of Robert C. Morton, where he worked from November 1987 through August 1988. He then worked in the Lake County Public Defender’s Office as a trial attorney handling misdemeanor and felony cases until 1991. In November 1991 he joined staff counsel at Merit Insurance Company and remained with Merit until joining staff counsel at CNA Insurance Company from 1995 to 1998.
Mr. Appelbaum is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois trial Lawyers Association, and the Lake County Bar Association. He was a member of the Tort Section Council for the Illinois State Bar Association from 2000 to 2002 and a member of the Civil Practice and Procedure Section from 2003 to 2004.
Jack M. Linn is an attorney specializing in workers’ compensation and personal injury litigation. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign, and received his Juris Doctor degree in 2015 from Northwestern University School of Law.
Mr. Linn worked at the Lake County Public Defender’s office during his time in law school, prior to joining Linn, Campe & Rizzo in 2015 following his admission to the Illinois Bar.
